Practical Photography Courses
Take a part-time accredited course, or opt for customised, bespoke tutoring and benefit from Victor's experience of professional photography in many parts of the world, published widely in books, magazines and newspapers.
Victor Paul Borg has delivered courses that range from spots of bespoke private tutoring, sometimes even involving travelling, to part-time courses organized over a scholastic year and that set beginners on the road to professional photography. The latter are formal, accredited courses in Malta in which successful students get a certificate – several former students have gone on to become full-time, professional photographers. These latter courses are part of the Lifelong Learning programme of the Department of Education.
The course is titled Basic Digital Photography, and teaching takes place in a class in school. The course comprises of 28 lessons of 3 hours duration. The courses includes theory as well as practice out of class; the theory section in class is delivered by showing examples of pictures that illustrate the concepts, functions or techniques of specific subgenres of photography (such as landscape, sunsets, architecture, portraiture, nature, still life, working with flash, night photography, events photography and so on).
You can enroll for the course at the page of the Department of Education's Lifelong Learning. Click here to the go to the enrollment page, and in the "Keywords" field, put in this code C-PHT-M1-6 and click on Search. Applications are open until 11 August 2022.
Victor separately teaches a practical course in Photoshop.
Victor’s photography skills are equaled by his empathy, integrity and patience – he is an exceptional photographer and a great teacher, and his passion for photography comes through during teaching. I learned more about photography than I could have imagined.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity in gaining knowledge and hands-on experiencing in SLR camera photography. I have learnt a lot with you especially when we had the outings and could practice what we learned in class.
Mr Borg’s own specialties are in travel and nature photography, about which he was able to offer advice and hints that could only come from one who has been out in the field and doing this kind of work for many years.
An intensive and informative course with the occasional snippet of personal information that only Victor Borg could give having such extensive hands-on practice and experience. I would recommend this course to anyone who aspires to become a better photographer.
